What are we engaging on?

We’d like to hear your thoughts on the security, safety, and access improvements being proposed to the current cycle parking provision at Queen Anne Terrace car park on Gonville Place in Cambridge.

Following the consultation in 2021 Cambridge City Council have used the results to create proposals to improve on the existing number of spaces and security currently available at Queen Anne Terrace. The proposed improvements have been developed with partners through the Cambridge Community Safety Partnership’s (CCSP) ‘Cycle Crime Prevention Task & Finish Group’ and include:

• Installing ‘toast-rack’ style stands and improving fixings.

• Creating over 40 new internal cycle parking spaces, as well as more than tripling the available external cycle parking spaces.

• Potentially installing CCTV cameras and improving signage.

• Extending the undercover cycle parking area to provide secured area for cyclists, and potentially installing access control to the extension.

The improvements are expected to be completed later this year.

The feedback received as part of this engagement will inform the designs proposed for Queen Anne Terrace cycle parking, which will be summarised in a report published by Cambridge City Council. Following this, the designs will be finalised by the City Council, who will look to commence the cycle parking upgrades.
