Cambridge is one of the first smart cities in the UK to trial autonomous vehicles – investigating the feasibility of the technology being used as part of a public transport service in the future.

Following the launch of passenger trials at the end of May 2021, the public are able to book a trial ride using our EventBrite page. The trial route is a loop starting and ending at Madingley Road Park & Ride via the Cavendish Laboratory on the West Cambridge Campus and takes 10 – 15 minutes to complete.

More information about the vehicles and the trials, including a video explaining the details of the project can be found on our website here
